•MPS Laptops were experiencing errors beginning at 01:00 (before setting clocks back to Central Standard Time). “TIMESTAMP OF COMMAND FROM CLIENT LATER THAN CURRENT SERVER TIME”

  • •I logged in from home and got the same error on a test MPS workstation.
  • I checked that the time/date and time zone on:
    •  My test workstation
    •  wpssvpcadcomm (comm server)
    • wpssvpcaddb1 (Current primary DB server)
    • (AD file server)
  • All times were correct and set for Central Time and to adjust for Daylight Savings Time.
  • Ran a time comparison on all CAD workstations and servers and they were with a few milliseconds of each other.
  • By this time it was 01:45 so I suggested that we wait until 02:00 (back to 1:00) to see if the problem resolved itself. It did. All the errors ceased after 02:00.

Have any other agencies reported this? What can we do to prevent it from happening again?

Yes In Boston we experienced the same issue during the last hour of Eastern daylight time.MPS error “TIMESTAMP OF COMMAND FROM CLIENT LATER THAN CURRENT SERVER TIME”

When the clocks switched to Eastern Standard Time the problem fixed itself. By the time I was notified everything was working fine.  We are still looking into it and don’t have any answers yet
