For some time (couple of years), after truncate the MODIFICATIONLOG table, features disappear after posting, and after data publish the graphics attributes displays correctly again. We tried to apply the recommendation from HOW4227 and there is no table g3e_modifiedtables_optable in our production scheme. We ran a lot of times g3emanagemodlog.resettodatabase for entire DB and other administrative procedures for views etc., nothing helps. Did someone find a solution for the graphic disappear after posting problem. If feature is edited and graffic component for symbol and label is placed again (twice), then the feature displays after second posting.

We also occasionally experienced this issue of Feature Components not displaying in G/Tech after Posting - sometimes after trimming the modification-log, sometimes for other undetermined reasons.

For us, Publishing Data solves the problem and all Feature Components display correctly. (Your post also states: ‘and after data publish the graphics attributes displays correctly again.’)

My suggestion - and our maintenance procedure - is routinely (weekly or more often) performing:

Trimming the MODIFICATIONLOG Table

Executing G3E_MANAGEMODLOG.resettodatabase

Publishing Metadata

Publishing Data

Routinely performing these maintenance procedures, we now rarely experience the issue of Graphic Components not displaying after posting. If and when we do experience Graphic Components not displaying, Publishing Data resolves the issue and all Graphic Components again display correctly. I am uncertain why Publishing Data solves the graphic component display problem, it just does for us.

I apologize if I am not understand you issue.

The DDC was the biggest strength for a long time in G/Tech but it is not real time update for your local cache.

Posting update the DB from the modification log and if your DB and DDC is different, you lost its visual.

And publishing(regenerate DDC) then the visual is back.

It you are using the local DDC schema, you may try centralized DDC schema.

And running DB healthy check(Or publishing log check) as checking any broken relationship DATA.

Try below steps in your test environment.

1. Check of the g3e_fields column has all the columns configured in g3e_componentviewcompistion table for every cno involved in the component view that's going invisible after posting. e.g. columns involved in style filters, label filters, legend filters etc are included in the componentviewcompsition.

2. Run these as GTECH schema owner. (if your gtech version < v10.3)

execute ComponentQuery.Generate;

execute ComponentViewQuery.Generate;

execute GDOTRIGGERS.CREATE_GDOTRIGGERS;

execute G3E_MANAGEMODLOG.SyncToComponentView(<'ComponentViewName'>); Pass Component view name as the parameter that was fixed in the Step#1

3. Publish Metadata and Data.
