We currently have CA Backup software running on all or our servers that runs a full backup every Sunday from 02:00 to 05:00 hours on our primary COMM server. Unfortunately, the ASPrptgen app pool service crashes around 03:30 hours every Sunday. We suspect it has something to do with the software that the backup and recovery specialist is using to back up the server, but he contends that he is using the most recent version and no other issues have been experienced amoung the other servers. Has anyone else out there had any similar issues using CA Backup or similar software?

In the past, we have had to exclude the drive that holds the log files for all the services(mobile, informer, etc) on the comm server because we were told it could cause issues with sevices that need to write to those logs continually. Yo may want to try this. Also see if yu have anit-virus software running which may be scanning those logs as well.

Since it is just the asprptgen, have the vendor look at the configuration of the rptgen servicein IIS.

	Goog Luck!

UPDATE:

CA backup was interfering with the service. I had the network admin exclude the server from the backups and used the server backup utility to offload to our file server.
